Former Executive Director Brother David Sinitiere
The Praecellemus Fund is a renewal of the Signum Fidei Fund, which was established in 2001 to honor the Louisiana School’s fifth Executive Director, Brother David Sinitiere, who served the school from 1996 until 2001. Brother Dave brought impressive state and national credentials and experience to the school. His expertise and experience in the education of Louisiana’s children served the school well, as he provided exceptional leadership during a critical time in the Louisiana School’s history.
The fund draws its name from the Louisiana School’s motto, which means “we shall excel” and through developing residencies that build on the school’s exceptional faculty and curriculum, opportunities will be created for members of this outstanding student body to excel.
The Praecellemus Fund will be used to bring scholars, artists, and researchers to the LSMSA campus for presentations and short term residencies. The primary goal will be to spark in students a better understanding of their talents and training in the context of contemporary issues and thought.
"I want to thank you for bringing in Master Choreographer, Dianne Maroney-Grigsby to the Louisiana School's Impulse Dance Theatre Company. It provided talented students with a challenging and artistic experience that will undoubtedly be memorable for them. I am happy that we have the Praecellemus Fund in the LSMSA Foundation to provide the means to bring in visiting professionals of Dianne's caliber."
